Apply for a Grant from the Galvestion Community Police Foundation

Galveston Community Police Foundation (GCPF) only funds grants to the Galveston Police Department. All applications must be reviewed by the Galveston Police Department through the chain of command before submission for consideration.

The GCPF will work with the City to fund needs which are not supported by City budgets. The Foundation is dedicated to help fill all of the open positions for Police Officers in the City, which will lead to a reduction in crime, increased public safety and ultimately, a safer community in which to live, work and visit. The Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. All contributions are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.

GCPF encourages grant submissions for innovative and short-term programs that support our mission. Priorities include recruiting, retention and training as well as officer safety. Substantive program areas include recruiting expenses, moving expenses, short-term housing, assistance with spousal employment, advanced training, safety or special equipment, recognition awards and appreciation days.

APPLY:

Download and complete all areas of the grant application form. The grant proposal must be signed by the Commanding Officer of the requesting Division/Unit or Commander/Higher Rank. Provide support documentation, such as written estimates or quotes which indicate exactly what the Foundation would be paying a specific vendor if the grant is approved. Be sure to specify in your narrative how this proposal fits into the Foundation’s stated mission or funding priorities. Please retain a copy for your records. Attach the grant proposal to correspondence or a cover letter to be sent through your chain of command to the Chief of Police for approval. Grants submitted without the proper signatures will not be considered.
